A final 2009 note.

A couple of last minute thoughts. Please pray for the families of the CIA agents killed in Afghanistan by that suicide bomber. We sometimes forget that there are brave and skillful Americans fighting Islamic radicalism and America’s enemies around the globe who don’t wear uniforms. The station chief was one of those killed and she was the mother of three. I don’t know the family or personal status of the others, but eight families lost someone in that blast. And, they gave their lives for their country. God bless them and all of America’s warriors, in uniform and without, who sacrifice for our nation and our liberty.

And, keep the people of Iran in your thoughts and prayers. They have taken to the streets again and deserve our support. The current regime in Iran is the source of so much tension and terror, a regime change would be a big step forward toward a more peaceful and stable world. We as a people and nation should announce our support for the Iranian people against their extremist and tyrannical government. It would be the right thing to do.

I was happy to hear you on Hannity. What are the chances you could fill in for Rush while he’s out recovering?

I wonder about Fisher Broadcasting – firt Ed Hume – a real favorite of mine, and then you — it’s just plain nuts!

December issue of Current History has an interesting article on developments in Iran. Basic theme was that the current regime has been directing a takeover of portions of the economy previously the basis for merchant middle class and transitioning them into monopolies for members of the Revolutionary Guard and Islamic “foundations”.

You may have been aware of that aspect of the situation, but I was not.

I wish we had someone like Reagan again to lend moral support to the brave people of Iran. The Poles still revere Reagan for how he supported them during the days when Solidarity was fighting for freedom against the Soviet Union.

  6. Kirby,
Those were very powerful thoughts to end 2009 with. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the CIA officers, the troops, American Citizens and the Sea of Green Movement in Iran. We are all in this together.
