Earlier, I urged you all to buy from Papa Johns today, due to their dedication of profits to support the families of the four murdered Lakewood police officers. I also shared my tale from last night, about how crowded and busy the Woodinville store was. Well, today, the Woodinville, Bothell, Redmond, Kirkland and Mountlake Terrace stores are, according to their website, all closed due to lack of product, meaning they all sold out yesterday. Thank you all for your tremendous reaction and supporting the officers’ families. And a big thanks to Papa Johns. I know where I will buy my pizza in the future.
Now we should encougareg everyone to make a push in the next couple of weeks to go buy another pizza or two from them so Papa John’s can make up a little of their loss, too!
I bought one in Enumclaw last night, wish they had had more people, but there were a few.
Yearly employees gun club meeting was 12/09. Mentioned to Treasurer about Papa John’s tried from 10:30 to 2:00 to order but couldn’t get thru phone.
Will support them for their stand.
Saturday was in Bothell and shop there, local Bothell Sargeant left in front of me, I just said: “Be safe out there, Sir” He thanked me.
Our company had ordered 25 pizzas from Papa John’s for our inventory lunch, before we knew about their decision to donate the proceeds. When we went to pick up our pizzas from the Kent location it was a similar scene to yours. They had so many folks in the store that they decided to lock the door, and let people in in small groups to keep things moving efficiently. Like yours, the folks in this store were very professional despite being thoroughly overwhelmed. It really touched my heart that a local business would do something so generous, and that the people of this community would turn out so strongly for something so meaningful. Kudos to Papa John’s (my new favorite pizza) and to the people of the Puget Sound.
Hi Kirby,
That is great news! We will continue to buy from Papa Johns for sure.
I am wondering where to get one of the Lakewood P.D. ballcaps like the one Coach Sarkisian was wearing at the Apple Cup. It had the initials of the fallen officers embroiderd on it. I would pay top dollar to get one of those hats.
Respectfully,
-Pete
Hi, Kirby!
Papa Johns sold out of pizza before 7 p.m. Wednesday!
Hi Pete,
I am not sure where the ballcaps are from. I just checked Cafepress.com to see if they might be there. The hats aren’t, but they are selling a memorial button on that site for $5, the seller is Lakewood Heroes Memorial. Maybe someone who reads this will be interested.
Kirby,
I never comment on blogs, but am starting now. I REALLY miss you on my morning drive. I am the one that gave you that card a few years back at the Puyallup Toys for Tots drop. Which by the way, I will miss not greeting you and the Marines annually when donating. This was another year that Toys for Tots could benefit greatly from the turnout you bring and fund drive you used to run on KVI. I am so glad that you are now writing daily posts as I have been wondering what you have to say. Looking forward to hearing your voice again. Take care my radio friend

The Tillicum store folks were so nice and even though our order was a bit messed up, it didn’t matter considering what they were doing.
