The Book of Eli

IT’S 2:45 FRIDAY MORNING, just got back from a midnight showing of The Book of Eli. This is a must-see movie, Denzel is incredible, secular liberal critics will find much to dislike, it’s probably the most pro-faith movie, next to The Blind Side, that you will see this year. Go see it. UPDATE: WHEN I POSTED THIS FRIDAY MORNING AT 3 AM,  I NEGLECTED TO MENTION THE VIOLENCE. I APOLOGIZE. THIS IS CHRISTIAN ROAD WARRIOR AGAINST EVIL BAD GUYS. IF VIOLENCE BOTHERS YOU, HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT SEEING THE MOVIE.

YAY! another excuse to get real movie theater popcorn. I’ll take my son to see it tomorrow. hehe…besides, Eli will make up for all the propaganda we had to suffer through in the movie Avatar. I told the boys (11 yrs old) before the movie, prepare to be brainwashed. On the way home I had to debrief them; Corporations are not evil, the US military is good, enviro’s are weirdo’s. then we went home and played a war game on xbox.

As a woman, the violence especially bothered me. I failed to see any redeeming point of this dark movie. How is Jesus as a “Road Warrior”, snuffing out almost everyone he meets on His way to Alca Traz Publishing, acting as the Jesus of the bible that I know? Just because there is a a Bible in this movie, does not make this a Christian film or one about moral virtue. Eli’s actions are more like an Islamic terrorist during a Jihad. Eli is not a good role model for patriots to follow. I definately would not recommend the movie; it was tedious and dull.
