WELL, FAIRLY GOOD-SIZED CROWD today in Olympia – 3 – 4,000. The takers and spenders got 6,000, or so the press reports. Of course many were paid to be there while many of you worked to pay them. State workers, students, teachers, social workers and other state bureaucrats had a holiday today, so many got paid to demonstrate to take more of your money today. Many wore union T-Shirts and I found it illuminating that there were more socialist newspapers than American flags at their rally. Dori Monson did a great job, good to see other talk show folks stepping up to the plate. The fight continues and we must never give in.
I am now state director of Americans for Prosperity, a large nationwide grass roots group that defends limited, Constitutional government and the free market. We need you to sign up and help us all. You can check out www.americansforprosperity.org, costs nothing to join and we are not intended to replace any other group but to help bring us all together. Let me know if any questions, kirbywilbur@hotmail.com.
We are SO there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Of course many were paid to be there while many of you worked to pay them.”
As a union member, I would be very distressed if my colleagues were attending such a rally when they were supposed to be working. When I attended such rallies, my union bought by time, repaying the employer for my time.
Many teachers probably attended. You should be aware that on President’s day, there was no school, so attending the rally did not involve being paid. Were the same rally to have taken place today, the same would be the case in many districts, as this is MidWinter Break for many.
You make an off hand comment/accusation that attendees at the revenue rally were being paid. That warrants some sort of documentation. I’d like to learn what leads you to believe such was the case. Otherwise, I would ask you to retract that comment/accusation, as being purely speculative.
They don’t have Washington listed on their website for state chapters.
Yes to get enough people to come to their rally they had to bus them in whereas we did not….
You were by far the best speaker at the rally yesterday, Kirby. Direct, to the point, and you knew how to get the audience fired up. Thank-you!
Kirby,
I miss hearing you on the radio, we need you back on and not just as a filler. I’m sorry I missed the Olympia ralley. As for Dori Monson like you John Carlson and Bryan Suits he is a voice in this sanity that is Washington State, as for him stepping up to the plate he has for quite some time he is and independant that seems to lean more right than left. When you were on in the mornings after listening to you I have to confess that I turned the dial and would switch between him and Sean Hannity. Out of all the talk shows on KIRO he is the only sane one, Gagoire goes on everyone elses show because they treat her with kid gloves not Dori the one or two times she has been on he rakes her over the coals, funny come to think of it the only times she begs to come on his show is when the Seahawks went to the playoffs or the SuperBowl as he does the pre and post game show, then she is all over him. Anyway we need to back on the airwaves full time this could shape up to be very interesting year. What happened in Mass. gives me hope that maybe just maybe the ignorant voters here will finally wake up or we are screwed big time. To bad Queen Christine isn’t up for re-election this year, I really do not think that they know what will hopefully hit them this year we need to get everyone of them out of Olympia.
Miss You! Susan
Kirby,
There’s nothing listed for a Washington chapter. Do you have any info on how we can contact the Washington chapter?
Wow…State Democrats say it’s a myth that they are responsible for state deficits http://www.sdc.wa.gov/issues/budget/05.htm
Signing up now Kirby!
