ROANOKE CONFERENCE GREAT SUCCESS
I SPENT MY WEEKEND in Ocean Shores at the first Roanoke Conference, a gathering of Republicans from around the state. Founded by Steve Buri , Newcastle city councilmember, who works at the Discovery Institute, it was a weekend of panels, seminars, speeches, political theater and seeing old friends. Steve was kind enough to ask me to MC for which I thank him. I was very impressed with the quality of the event and the number of people who showed up, some 240. We spent a gray January weekend discussing bright Republican hopes for later this year. Dino Rossi, Rob McKenna, the Senate candidates, legislative leaders and staff, grass roots folks from around the state were all there and a very well-done presentation of political theater Saturday night after the dinner that was hilarious and featured…..well, I promised, we all did, that what happened in Ocean Shores stays in Ocean Shores. Again, Steve, congratulations on a job well done; if you weren’t there, you should have been and you should plan on it for next year.

David, I don’tthink he will run. Three statewide campaigns in six years would be a lot for he and his family. His name was used in the poll because he has the best statewide name ID of any Republican.

Glad Roanoke Conference was a success. Had planned to attend, but family obligations kept me at home. Thought it strange to be holding it in January, as that can be a difficult time to travel around the state.
Sounds like it’s a clone of Mainstream Republicans of Washington’s Cascade Conference. MRW has held their conference the third weekend in May for over 25 years, alternating between Eastern Washington and Western Washington. Friday night get acquainted session; Saturday panels and banquet/auction; and Sunday general membership meeting and sometimes another panel or training session for candidates. Dino Rossi is running for another political office?
In the4 governors race he seem to roll over and played dead and didn’t seem to rebutal any of the Crap the Demo’s were putting out alot of us were very concerned and wondered if the FIX was in it seemd like he didn’e even try so I and some of my associates won’t be voting for hime in any kinda race in the future unless someone can really tell us what happend in that last election were he seemd to be sissing in Action.
Why is it when accusations are put out there the Republicans just sit on their duff and go Daaaaaaaaa!! Don’t they have any Fire?
